Below Freezing - what?

http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/69617329/new-zealand-drops-to-22c-below-freezing

After reading this, I wonder who survived the night in the south Island - obviously David has, but Jenna, I hope you're not too cold. Don't think I'd cope with it, considering our 2-4 degrees was cold enough here...

  1. Yeah. It's way too cold! I left about 9 this morning and the grass was still white. Scarf, jacket, boots, gloves, and my toes and fingers were still freezing :/ And this is only Auckland :P haha

    1. I don't even wear a scarf in Invercargill... I do admit to wearing fingerless gloves and thick jacket. And my slippers are boots, otherwise I wear my good old sneakers.

    2. You're brave :P Nah I never used to either, but I also ended up being sick just about all through winter... I have sneakers too, had them for nearly 6 1/2 years I think :P

  4. -20!!! Yup, winter has arrived... We're getting to negatives here, snow has being coming and going on the hills all day. Probably a bit early.

Kinda a sick joke really. They were forecasting record high temperatures for this Winter. Oh, and their video is more concerned for ducks in Dunedin at -5, than for people at Pukaki at -20. Oh well, I guess they have their priorities right then.

  5. Yeah, I managed to survive the last couple nights. We've been negative degrees the last couple nights, -5 the other night and -4 the last night.
Cold, but not freezing to death. We've had frosts, but frosts mean nice sunny days. It's not cold as long as you wear enough layers, as in tights under trousers and a singlet under a shirt and hoodie, and a thick jacket if going outside.
